Its looking like I'll have a 9 HR layover in Doha unless I can get the lovely people of Qatar airways to get me on the earlier flight to Manchester soon.

What is there available in the new Doha airport?

Might be a transit hotel if not nothing immediately on airport

There is an airside hotel. Qatar airways offer tours which may be free to transit passengers on their services.

My stay is unfortunately overnight.....

The air side hotel starts from £140 p/n, depending on date and how far in advance you book. Other than that you have the usual shops, restaurants, fast food restaurants, bars etc.

Try the free city tour and transit hotel. Pool and gym available as well.

Thanks, I'm going to Manchester Airport next Saturday, I'll ask the reservation teams there if anything can be done, even move up to earlier flight, only 2 hrs in Doha.

Could occupy the 9 hours asking them how their 2022 hosting of the World Cup is progressing :)

Maybe I would end up spending more than 9 hours there? :\

The Internet's such a wonderful thing....you just search on " Doha airport dayrooms" and it gives you this:
Doha Airport Guide & Reviews (http://www.sleepinginairports.net/mideast/doha.htm#airportHotel)
Now, why didn't I think of that....?

Maybe I should search for Doha Airport NIGHTrooms? :ok:

That would logically return a list of hotels which wouldn't be the worst idea.....

Yep, very expensive hotels......

And I think you would need to buy a visa to pass thru immigration to enter the country to a hotel.

Were it me, I'd find an airport bar or fast food type outlet with WiFi, when preoccupied online a snack and/or a beer can last a longer time than expected ... Then ask them how their 2022 world cup hosting is going :)

QR is shouting us the visa, hotac and meals for a 20 hour stay. Perhaps for 9 hours they will cover the visa cost ...
