A great post, thanks for sharing that story. My father was in Glasgow, aged four at the time, so doubt he would have known much about the occasion.

try looking for the man who bought a navy its all about the scrap metal company cox and danks who raised most of the german ships its an amazing read about very brave men working inside upside down battleships sealing all the holes so they could be pressurized and refloated
incredible stuff !!
