Hi all,

I'm flying LHR-ADD-LHR in July with Ethiopian on the 788 and I was wonderinf a few things:

- Can I request seating beforehand? It doesn't seem to be possible on their website
- What are the best seats? I don't want one blocked by the wing especially on the flight back which I'm hoping will be quite scenic
- Anyone have experiences of ET, how are they?
- What is ADD like?
- Has anyone been to Ethiopia any tips, information, reviews?

Thank you
Much appreciated

Yeah been on there but not always 100% accurate with the positioning of the wing but I doubt the first rows of economy will be available so I think behind row 28 would be the only option personally

Don't count on the aircraft being the one stated - my ADD-LHR return in April was meant to be on the 787, but when I went to check in online it turned out to be a 777. You can't check in online from LHR, so you won't know until you get to the airport. Tip is to arrive VERY early as Ethiopian are known for overbooking. I arrived 2 1/2 hrs early and was OK, my friend arrived 30 mins later and was placed on standby. She did get on the flight, but it was not a reassuring hour or so waiting to know. At LHR Ethiopian is all self-service check in. From ADD you can check in online for the return. Try to get a window seat on the right hand side. For a good part of the flight we followed the Nile through Sudan and into upper Egypt.

Cheers! I desperately want a window seat on the right on the way back!!!

We're flying BA NCL-LHR then ET LHR-ADD, do you reckon we'll have to check in again at LHR? I don't think they interline, we have just over 6 hours stop at LHR both ways as well

If it's not inter-lined, yes, I imagine you will. BA will presumably arrive at T5 and you'll have to transfer to T2. But six hours should be fine, and I imagine one advantage of self service check in is that it'll be available earlier than if you had to wait for a person to arrive at a desk. Good luck and enjoy the trip. I hope you'll love Ethiopia as much as we did!
