A pilot has been airlifted to hospital after crashing a light plane into a paddock, east of Adelaide.

The plane came down near Tailem Bend just after 8am on Wednesday.

The 46-year-old pilot suffered facial injuries and was flown to Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide.

The man was conscious when treated by paramedics at the scene and also complained of back soreness, the ambulance service says.

As reported on another forum by a pilot friend assisting in the enquiry, it's a Tiger Moth.

Interesting.... Seems that this paddock has a habit of attracting plane crashes !

Something about a thin pocket of air. As much as that sounds strange, not many property owners would have had more than one plane crash on their property unless perhaps they were next to an airport.

Draggertail is correct. Aircraft is now reported on the other forum to be a Fisher Flying Products R80 which is an 80% scale Tiger Moth replica.

It was an engine failure (Suzuki) and the subsequent forced landing on rocky ground was somewhat unsuccessful.
