I realise this is probably a complete zoomer question but I'd be grateful for a serious answer.

I've never seen this, while I have seen any number of military types with rear ramp doors fly with them open. Also Mi-8/17 with clamshell doors removed, but not the 117.

Is the trim penalty just too big with a craft the size of the 117? Would partial opening of the crew doors help?

I've searched the forum and found out about the side doors issue, and how it's not a cabin integrity issue, but nothing really about the rear clamshell doors.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Flight is approved with the clamshell doors removed:

For the BK117 B2 see FM 11-3 2.5.3.

For the BK117 C2 ( EC 145 ) see FM 9.1-2 5.1 ( All other doors also have to be removed )
