Gday Wandererswaypoint,
I have lived in Taiwan before when I was with EVA Air, not a bad place I enjoyed it. Very central in Asia and plenty to do.

I have a question, I will be in Taipei for the CAL screening for the A330 Capt position in a couple weeks.. You have any insight to the interview regarding technical questions?

What fleet you going on?

Regards

Sandman

I'll be in TPE for the Eva Air screeing, recently divorced and looking to save up some cash to pay off student loans and my car, and have some fun in life. Is it a good place for a single guy and save up some cash?

Hi Jsfboat,

Taiwan is a good place, plenty to do and see. Its very central to everything. Japan is close, Hong kong and the like. I like it. Taiwan isn't an expensive place unless you want to live out in your own place, somewhere decent will cost you. Apart from that its pretty good. The accommodation in EVA isn't too bad either.

I wish you all the best!

I lived there for 3 years, it's an easy city to live in, and pretty cheap compared to the rest of Asia. Taiwan is great island that needs exploring. Check out the east coast, and Kenting to the south. Taiwanese people are easy to people to live with and fly with, enjoy your time at Dynasty.

Thanks for the info, If I get the Eva job I will buy a motorcycle to explore the island with. As far as the women, how's that? Will it be like shooting fish in a barrel or do they not like the guailos?

Plenty of nice cabin crew at Eva, I married one!
You will have a lot of fun exploring Taiwan by bike, the East Coast is awesome. Enjoy Eva, I enjoyed my time there.

Im also considering of moving there in future. Is EVA still looking for pilots? I have seen some advertisements in the past but I have not seen a recent one for a while. What are the upgrade possibilities for foreigners? Do they give a chance for captain promotion and if yes what is the average time to be offered an upgrade?
