BA will start a new LHR-SZG service later this year, Saturdays and Sundays only.
I've just checked pricing for 7-14 November this year.
If you fancy a laugh, take a look at the price!

Well looking at going out on the 8th and back on the 14th the prices are 51 pounds each way including taxes and with no hold bags. 66 pounds each way withhold baggage. Sounds reasonable to me.

Belay my comment above, Chris is correct. My prices were from Gatwick, which I realise is a bit downmarket but does not usually produce a saving of over 7000 pounds!

Beautiful city. Head over for the festival for a few days each summer. It's just lovely. Well worth a look. Airport is small, well appointed and very close to the town. Go. You won't be sorry!

Different route, but can anyone explain how/why in January BA charge nearly £900 return LGW/GVA, but £120ish LHR/GVA? (Same dates, similar times).

Well, I've just tried it and it says they don't fly to Salzburg from LHR...

The route starts in November this year, IIRC.
I've been many times to Salzburg. I'm with Alserire here; it's one of my favourite cities.

Sorry - I didn't make myself clear. I checked exactly the same dates mentioned by the OP and it comes up with a message saying they don't fly that route from LHR...

BA682 LHR 12:00 15:00 SZG
BA683 SZG 15:55 16:55 LHR
Ops on Sat/Sun fron November using A320.
