Any thoughts on the pros and cons of working as a ramp agent at a major south east England airport while studying/waiting for an FO job?

Flexible shifts and £10 per hour, so not too bad.

No cargo handling in this one.

I want to do it for the aviation experience and not the money.

Strange question I think.

What do you see the cons as being?

I mean it's a decent paid job and will get you exposure to the industry.

One job which I never got a chance to do but think would have been useful was dispatch, so you might even be able to get into dispatch through it, which gives you a decent chance for interaction with crew and good idea of work management.

+1 for dispatch.

Always good to get any ground operations experience, either ramp or ops. So when you are sat in your seat in the flight deck and things are going delayed, you'll have a faint idea what could be going on instead of sat there moaning why your tco isn't there explaining.

I'd third the dispatch option, but the wage for a ramp agent will probably be higher
