Chile and Peru have been laying off a lot of people since 5-6 months ago, although all of them from Ground Ops (IT, Fltops, Commercial, etc...) to avoid hitting on Cabin and Flightdeck Crew says the rumour.
No Pilot hiring since about 18 months ago, i know some guys that did the whole selection process and are still waiting a start date.

In aviation we have bad and good moments but 18 months is a long period and maybe LAN is putting everyting in order prior to start hiring again. Lets wait!!!

Some years ago they hired low h pilots to the 767 flete. Would they do the same in a near future?

LAN Airlines is recruiting FOs for LAN Express, Chile.
But I do not know if they are still taking new applications.
Selection process was taken in Buenos Aires for Argentinian CPL.

Are they still recruiting now or are they planning further recruitment in the net year? I have experience in the Airbus A320 and made my application in August and haven´t heard from them since...
Also I got Spanish and Argentinian passports...

thanks!

LANAR (LAN Argentina-4M) is not recruiting at this moment. Only one more A320 is scheduled on next June. That´s it. There are rumours about recruiting 6 FOs but big chances have the Argentine FOs flying for LAN Express to be offered those positions.
The minimum requierements for 4M are higher than the LATAM holding.
Total Time, 1000 hrs+Comercial de Primera license+Argentine Passport.

For LANEX, you should keep your application updated and wait to be called.

Here is information I have.

Every LAN is a diferent company and have diferent request for pilots.

Lanperu is calling foreign Primeros Oficiales (copilotos). I don't know if they need to be from Pacto Andino country, don't thing so. I applied and waiting for answer in the next part for interview. I have friends working for Lanperu and this they tell me:

30-40 copilots for 2016 because of growing and pilots quiting. No captains, sindicate is stopping captains coming directly.
You need OACI comercial license, instrument and multiengine, american visa and english OACI 4. No minimum hours he say. But he say if you have less than 1000hrs you make half salary, so very low money. Then more than 3000hrs you make very good salary.
A lot of flying, days off are minimum, that is why pilots leave. He say it is a good airline to get A320 hours and than leave to Qatar or Etihad or China.

The interview, ATP questions, sicological, and talk to RRHH and one pilot then simulator instrument flying. Everybody say that the Sicologo is hardest don't now why.

To postulate you need to send information in there website. LAN.com - Country Selector (http://www.lan.com) and check "trabajos". Then you can email lanperu recruit:
[email protected]
[email protected] with CV.

Hope it is some help.

With regards to the ATP based exam. What are the topics covered in this exam? I don't imagine them asking questions on FAA Regulations. Is it just topics like aerodynamics, weather, navigation and nav-aids, performance, weight and balance?

Just study the ATP 2016 questions in any of the formats or download one of the apps. Gliem for example.

Salaries would be 40% of the full Senior FO for the first 4 years...
Around 1,200,000 pesos Chilenos/U$D 1691 per month.
LAN Airlines doesn´t pay housing allowances after the line training and there isn´t any school benefit.
This is the last agreement between LAN Airlines and the Pilots Union in Chile...

I would like to know how much is the net salary for a Captain in LP.
I have some comments about Peruvian Soles 26000 gross and 16000 net for a B767 Captain.
It is too low for a widebody Captain.

Cheers from the South.

Which is why I left CosmicC. Salaries given the current exchange rate of 3.5 to the USD are now well below par IMHO. However keep in mind that you get 14 salaries plus 1 Union bonus. So actual is more like $6.5-7K if you average it out over the whole year. I was up around 7.5-8K (at 2.6 to USD), but now make more than double as an expat. But the expat life is not for everyone as you well know.

Saludos

Hello all, for the LP process, the ATP questions are the ones from the DGAC webpage or does LAN do their own questionbank? Many thanks and happy landings!
