This is interesting news especially in light of the recent announcement that Jet planned to take back two of their leased 777 to resume North American operations.

Jet Airways offers all its Boeing 777 and Airbus A330-200s for sale - Bangalore Aviation (http://www.bangaloreaviation.com/2015/04/jet-airways-offers-all-its-boeing-777-and-airbus-a330-200s-for-sale.html)

Perplexing move after announcing newer routes.

Apparently, Jet needs to retire a debt of almost Rs 12000 Cr from its books. Its partner Etihad has made it very clear that it will not buy further equity into Jet till the airline turns its account books into black. This may be a way forward for Jet as its wide body fleet is not doing too well. It would also suit Etihad to reduce its partner to a feeder airline.

A corporate game gone sour for Jet.

There is no doubt Jet would fit naturally as a feeder for their more capable partner Etihad. Most interesting since six 777s and two 332s are already on lease to EY, one would think an internal sales or transfer deal would have made more sense.
