Hi Everyone

Hoping someone can help with a query about the UAE Licence. I am looking at other job opportunities and wondering of there is any need to get my EASA license current with my present type. All of the contract jobs I am interested in, state that an "ICAO license" is acceptable. However I have heard on leaving the UAE that you have to return the license to the GCAA.
Does anyone have a first hand knowledge regarding this issue and whether its worth spending the cash on the EASA license??
Thanks

Not an issue.
EK will ask for the plastic or deduct 800aed from your final settlement.
You can always approach GCAA, 3 blocks away, for a licence verification letter and reissue of the plastic for 400aed
Not worth getting your EASA recency

hi rainbow

Thanks for that info. Do you know if the licence verification process is straight forward with the GCAA?

Once registered on the GCAA website I received my verification letter via e-mail after three days or so for no charge. I popped in their office to ask about getting a duplicate copy of my actual licence and I was told that they don't issue duplicates and only your employer can apply for a licence in the first place :=.

Maybe this was a curved ball, but if you have any other information, please share.
