Oh gawd.

It means we'll be back to operating different fleet variations again :hmm:
Nothing new I know but another set of differences, operating parameters etc to remember!

I guess no. Just a few days ago Faberge discarded the ready go ahead for a neo in the press.
EK must have waited for a decision before ordering the actual RR variant, although they would have preferred to defer these orders from 2013 and convert them to the neo with new engines.

Three spool discord.

Boeing phased them out....for a reason!

RR = Rotating Rubbish.
GE = Good Engine.

That'd be why the 787 has Trent 1000's on it eh Halas? Although I will admit the 892s on the 777 are a right pain in the EPR gauge.

I disagree. The 380 neo is an unknown because of the engines. With EK opting for some RR's, they are encouraging, poking, prodding, etc., for RR to build a neo 380 engine.

"GE = Going Extinct

Craggenmore,

Your statement needs a bit of perspective.

Market cap of RR Holdings Plc is 18.041B GBP approx 28.86B USD.
Market cap of GE Holdings Inc is 636.01B USD.

You seem to be a smart individual (other than the above statement)

How many times does 28.86, go into 636.01?

Really...... ? "Going extinct"

I know this is a Rumor network, but as has been said before.

Be prepared to be called out on Bull****.

Ladies and Gents,

I think its irrelevant as to the choice of engine that an airline may make. If they had SR-71 power plants or the RR it makes no odds apart from learning new parameters.

Ultimately it will have been a numbers game between GE and RR. This one RR won, lest we not forget the GE win on the 77W after the RR performed - well I do not wish to say awfully but not far off it when the 772/3 came out. Win some loose some...

I think really whats important here is not what engines are on the airplane but whats going on inside the airplane and the bouncy castle because that affects people more

Qantas must think the world of RR.

Gave them a world of publicity.....for all the wrong reasons.
