Hi, I've recently moved to Abu Dhabi with an EASA PPL. I'm looking for somewhere in the region to fly privately but it seems options are limited.

As I understand it, to fly privately in the UAE requires an AED11,000 conversion to a GCC licence and once you do there are few places you can do it. Is there anything in Oman or Saudi? Or is it possible here and I've missed a trick?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks,
James

Best bet, go fly Gyro Copters around Ras-Al-Kaimah Jazirah Aviation Club (http://www.jac-uae.net/) 25°39'51.84"N/ 55°46'25.96"E. Best fun I am sure, no need to convert, fly with their instructor and you relaize how small the borders are. I doubt there is any private flying here with fixed wing!

Skydive Dubai is also starting a Gyro operation off the drop-zone.
