Recollect a colleague whose mother lived on Vanuatu.
Hope she's OK.

ACMS Quote :-"If there is a God......................"

How many times have I heard "Oztrailia, God's own bloody country, mate"

Are you now having doubts?

How on earth can this thread slip into a God debate when Vanuatu has been hammered to the point of senseless natural destruction..with a potential/or probable massive loss of life?...the question should be..what can we do to help..nt pontificate over religion..wtf?!!

The individuals were not pontificating as to the existence of a God. They were merely expressing their distress/ empathy/ feelings in their own various different ways. If that involves religion in some shape or form then so be it. Some smart Alec then took it upon himself to castigate them and make light of the matter. People dead and property destroyed, and lives ruined, "For the love of God."
Catch a grip. Be grateful it isn't you or your families picking up the pieces.

Pucka, I think you are being a little over sensitive about God's influence, or not.

Certainly my references to ACMS and Oztrailia were rather tongue in cheek.

Yes, it is sad about the destruction and loss of life in Vanuatu, but it is not the first place and most certainly not the last place that will suffer a natural disaster. That is the way of the world.
