Which growbag is most admired by the female sex?

The old green RAF, or the new? Or perhaps a tailored desert one?

What about the USAF or the dark green FAF?

Is the German Orange preferred to the Reds or the BBMF black?

Does the g-suit or goon suit cut it with 50 Shades of Grey and an AR 1 thrown in
?

.....what did you sprinkle on your cornflakes this morning? I briefly saw in the DT this AM an article "Why women can't resist a man in uniform". Can't remember the conclusion. At our age it doesn't make a hell of a lot of difference anyway.

The blue ones I remember had no need for a belt and fitted like a glove, but then that was I eating Command and the 4-hour feeding cycle*

I kid thee not, pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight.

Maj D-y was back in the locker room with C-s, a WRAF ATCer, having just taken her up for a trip in a 228 jet; she asked what to do with the flying suit she had been loaned. Maj D-y, god bless 'im, replied "Just drop it over there; I'll sniff it later....." ;)

What about the old Zoot Suit? A fine piece of clothing if ever there was one. A similar design to the flying suit but more '50 shades'.

I knew this would end up as a faintly gay thread.

It's the aircrew version of a labourer's boiler-suit.

It has neither style, nor fit, nor general appeal.

Except when worn by women

The only thing that matters is that the flying suit must include the flying badge of the two-winged master race :ok: !!

The N Koreans do it in full leather, however the female pilot flying kit differs somewhat. I wonder if they have to water it ;)

ORAC, the girl on the right probably thinks that she is holding a female pee tube

Mainly wore No.1s just like WWII :p but I did hang up my jacket on the flight deck. Now this would have been tricky in a Spit. Your wallet could have fallen out of your pocket.

Pontius Navigator
14th Mar 2015, 17:53
ExAscot, you again remind me of style of the cold Hastings hands; No1 trousers, Marty No 2 Blue flying suit on top and set off by a number 1 jacket complete with wings, salad dressing and mega master aircrew rank badge on sleeve, jacket worn open of course.

There was only one catch as far as bird pulling.

Having worn both blue grey and olive 'grow bags' for flying I thought they were the bees knees. When Nomex came in to use the crew room started to become er, male scented.

Sorry to get back to the Thread, (perhaps it's just as well !), but does anyone remember the blue-grey things that we said must have been designed by a woman - in that the top zip just didn't come down far enough. or the bottom zip just high enough, to be "fit for purpose" ? :uhoh:

Danny ...

I think you are referring to the early 'Blue' (seen here on the right) ... I believe the 'Grey' (seen on the left) superseded the 'Blue' ... but I could be wrong. No doubt one of our Suqipper members will correct me :ok:

Not a velcro strip in sight ... and you weren't properly dressed unless you wore a tie ;)

Pontius Navigator

CS, no, there were 3, the light blue temperate was the Mk2, the slate grey Mk4 was winter and the cold weather one wad also slate grey.

The jacket and trousers came as a one piece but you could separate the parts

The trousers had grey braces, the top had a tail crotch strap. It was lined with a blanket type material.

Matching gloves were gauntlets much prized by MTD. They were brown leather but different shades for left and right ad they were issued as EA and different contractors!

The blue and grey were replaced by green equivalents.

Pontius Navigator
16th Mar 2015, 13:02
Chopper, the jackets are probably from China anyway.

CoffmanStarter
16th Mar 2015, 13:08
Thanks PN ... My first one was the Grey with only one perspex knee pad on the right leg with a flapped small knee pocket on the left leg (I think this was originally designed for the First Aid Kit). But velcro had just been discovered ... which was used to secure the knee pocket flap, waist tapes and epaulettes. So I guess this was a yet further Mk(5?) ... thence replaced (for me) with a 'shapeless' Green Mk11 (I think).
