Apparently, according to BBC R4 who should know better, England has 'crashed out' of the cricket world cup. How'd that happen then? Big hole knocked in the side of the stadium with a pile of wrecked cricketers and wickets piled in the road outside?
How the f*** do you 'crash out' of a cricket match?

F1, yes. Red Bull Air race, yes. But cricket FFS?

English cricket......won't exist soon.

The game is only played by posh kids from posh schools these days. Whilst a test match ticket will cost you several arms and legs.

Once the Ozzies batter England in this years Ashes, people will stop going.

Give it 5 years and so many English county sides will have gone bust
the professional game as we know it now in England will collapse.

Show the door to Mr Moores - and at the same time, show the door to those that sanctioned him a second bite at the job. Quite awful decision making all round.

waco you are so out of touch with English cricket it is laughable!

Utter bolleaux old chap. The club I play for in a medium sized town in Sussex has over 100 young cricketers (08 years old to 16 years old), we run 5 teams on a Saturday, and we have around 10 players qualified as coaches to help improve the standards. I don't think we have any young cricketers who attend a 'posh' school, they are all from state schools. The other team in the town, currently above us in the league structure, has another 50 or so youngsters who play for them

Whilst state schools have gone backwards in running cricket teams, the local cricket clubs have taken up the slack, and the youngsters probably get a better coaching because of this. We have just had one lad who started with us progress via a couple of other clubs to a full contract with Sussex, and several others are in the representive XI's for their age groups. All this is the soft South. Oooop North I think it is just as strong.

Where we have a problem is the fecking ninnies who say you can only use soft balls in place of cricket balls until they are a certain age, and children cannot field too close to the pitch, and the restriction on the number of overs they can bowl before having an enforced rest................ We are making them mentally weak in comparison to other countries.

A thread started by VH-UFO....ha ha ha etc. ... back in March 2015 and now being commented on in January 2016 without a mention of the Ashes series in England. Why is that do you think?

People are not paying attention!
There was a good programme on BBC here yesterday, featuring Joe Root & Stuart Broad, telling their story of that match at Trent Bridge.
If ever a commentary should include the phrase "Bish, bash, bosh" it was that one!
I am listening now to the Newlands Test and that is bringing back memories from the mid-70s of some happy sessions at the near by pub (I think it was called the Forrester Arms or something like that). Happy days!

I have a Cricket bat used by and signed by the Last South African team to Play England in or about 1964 just about when the Lefties and tossers started chanting about South African Politics being un-fare to the Coloured population- thereby stopping any further games against the S African Teams.

I am looking for a buyer, with anything raised going to "Help The Heroes" :ok:

anyone here interested please PM me..

Well bowled Stuart Broad, proving yet again what a good bowler you are. A bowler who is very capable of winning matches. What an amazing performance this morning (England time), ripping the heart out of South Africa.

Unless one of the South African tail scores a century it seems that the Man of the Match will be between Root or Broad.

" A bowler who is very capable of winning matches. What an amazing performance this morning (England time), ripping the heart out of South Africa."

surely.....true, in recent times.....alas, it has taken him a few years to get to this point....

" Unless one of the South African tail scores a century it seems that the Man of the Match will be between Root or Broad"
