Straight Jet-A1 without prist or biocide is more common in Oz than F34 that has both, judging from a random scan through the ERSA.

If jet fuel is so prone to bacterial contamination, why isn't all jet fuel treated with biocide at the refinery or distributor level.

Couldn't find an answer to this on any site, can you overdose fuel with biocide and will it have any detrimental effects on an engine or systems?

How often do you need to put a load of fuel through your tanks to keep the bugs away. Some websites say 3 or 6 monthly.

From memory Biocide is corrosive and needs to be added in a specific ratio, which is dependant on the aircraft.

We used to deal with it during C-Checks. Not sure if the aircraft had any added on the line.
