XZ597 spotted on a low loader heading east along the M27 (UK) this morning at 0930.

Enroute to Vector at Fleetlands? I think they have a few months of Sea King work remaining.

From the A34 last night.

That would be consistent with a Valley-to-Fleetlands routeing.

Is that the first one for the chop? Is there any due for preservation?

Sat in one a few weeks back they are definitely due for retirement.

My first posting in the RAF after my trade training was on Sea Kings, B Flt 202 Sqn at RAF Brawdy. The majority of the fleet were about 7 years old at the time, and that was 29 years ago now.

They have served the RAF well, but I think it is probably time that they were retired.
