Thankfully at least nobody was seriously hurt. It could have so easily have been catastrophic.

Pardon the crappy special effects and mixed aircraft types - but you get the pilot's first hand story...

Impressive, red bull just did the same, here it is chopping off the prop of one and the wing of the other, both landed ok and no computer assistance in flying it.

Looks like the WSO left the pilot to it..?

Leading an Eagle back to Deci, my WSO tells me that the dude's left stabilator is missing. The Eagle driver hadn't noticed anything amiss, apart from his jet "feeling a little squirrelly".

1983 Negev mid-air collision - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1983_Negev_mid-air_collision)

The 1983 Negev mid-air collision was an accident in which the right wing of an Israeli Air Force F-15D was sheared off in a mid-air collision. Pilot Ziv Nedivi managed to land the F-15 safely due to the F-15 Eagle's aerodynamic characteristics.
