The article cites Air New Zealand general manager of regional airlines, Sarah Williamson and she talks about 13 new ATR aircraft being added into the domestic fleet. Also she mentions the 68-seat (ATR) aircraft would replace the 50-seat (Q300) aircraft currently used to connect Nelson to Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Does it mean more Q300 bases are in danger of being shut/downsized?

The mothership used to have a turbo prop operation that was consolidated in AKL WLG and CHC with F27, and now the links are going to AKL WLG CHC. Maybe NAC had it right the first time.

Things go in circles c100... another Eagle air equivalent will start up .. be successful and profitable.. air nz will buy it and shut it down....

I'm sure they would if the price is right.
