Can anyone confirm what the largest aircraft to land at CVT airport? Heard an Antonov 124 went in once?

Small debate in our office at work?

I would have said it's a toss up between B707-320 and B757, dependent upon which is the heaviest. Can't recall any heavy Antonov hardware using the airport. I would have thought that the runway might not be strong enough for the 124.

Vulcan bomber XH558 landed at CVT during a fly-in 2010.
Even in a stripped down form it is still a beast of an aircraft,I only hope she will continue to fly but that is in the lap of the gods!!!

Yep, got to be either a 707 or 757. Gainjet used to run 757s in and out of CVT. Here's an old shot of a 707 departing:

I remember hearing somewhere that the 124 went into CVT but there's nothing online so it's probably a myth

A300 from DHL has been mentioned here. Still think I saw a picture of a large Russian freighter in there.

We have had the An.124 at BHX in the past.
It was to pick up a generator of some description if memory serves.

Either a Scheiner Airways A300 or an IL76 take your pick- The Gainjet 757 is not a case of used to be but one of still do.

The Russian craft was an Il-76 and is the largest aircraft to visit. Thanks to all that replied
