Today looks to be the worst day of pollution this year it's horrible . CX should be paying us danger money for having to live in this sh..ty air, like many US companies do

I was in Scotland yesterday, breathing "Champagne" air. Within minutes of getting off the flight here today, my chest had tightened and I was breathless going up one flight of stairs.

This atmosphere is not good for anyone.

Breathless up the stairs? Is that the air or have you been eating too many jock pies?

There will be long-term consequences for all of us, especially for kids.

Oriental, while I share your frustration, I don't really understand your logic. What raise is an acceptable compensation for your kids getting cancer or a deformed lung??

The only reasonable answer can be more basings/ part-time/ commutable rosters.

PS Hugo, you will need your humor in the future, keep it up.

Oriental flyer, You know what Cathay would say to that. Something along the lines of "go breathe the air where you came from"

This subject has been flogged to death for years now. It won't change so there are two choices. Accept it or leave! Are you suggesting that more money would compensate ruining your lungs and maybe an early death?

Not without its own problems, starting nicely when Salim turns up at your villa in his Ferrari to take out you 15 year old daughter.

Having lived near there, a Godforsaken place infused with a myriad of tribal maniacs where social stability is tending toward razor's edge.

And as the factories close in China for new year, the pollution departs for ten days of wonderful sunshine any time now....

Having had both of my offspring on nebulisers in hospital out there after suffering breathing problems, I decided enough was enough. Never mind "danger money"! I took a 60% pay cut, left the place for good. Not regretted it; kids' health comes first.

Right now the ATIS is giving 1500m in fog , call it what you want, its still pollution, there may be some water vapor clinging to the 2.5mm particles but those are still going on a one way trip into your lungs
