Incident: VivaColombia A320 at Bogota on Feb 4th 2015, engine shut down in flight (http://avherald.com/h?article=4815a290&opt=0)

Seems to take a long time to shut it down, but then again, better to do it by the book and shut down the right engine...which in this case was the right engine. Am I right?

That must have been a bit disconcerting for the passengers, although by the sound of it they seemed calm within earshot of the person filming. I wonder why the crew kept the engine running as they were turning in for the emergency descent ? Is it because Bogota is at such an altitude that one engine was deemed too risky even though the 2nd, and afflicted, engine had been damaged ?
