Idly surfing Google Earth I came across the old airstrip at Khe Sanh and on it appears to be a C130, UH-1 and CH-47 parked up.

From what I can find on the web there is some form of museum there but I can't find a lot of info on the aircraft.

Were they left there when the US abandoned Vietnam or were they brought there to form part of a museum later on ??

Looking on the Web they look in reasonable condition..............

The strip is just north east of the town for those who want to look on Google Earth (you can see the C130 parked up on a PSP platform and the outlines of the revetments on the North side and the runway (returned to Ag)

Anyone got any more info on who, what, why ??

Thanks

I've been - good little museum. I think the aircraft were ex-South Vietnamese from what I remember...
