Arab Times (Arabic Version) reported 17 April 2001 on recent IAF attack on Syrian SAM site in N. Lebanon. The gist of the report stated that during the attack, an EgyptAir flight with 116 POB had to maneouvre because of IAF attack birds prepping for their bomb runs. Sources also said that Syrian defences could not /would not fire with the Egyptair aircraft mixed up in the melee. By the way, EgyptAir diverted and did NOT land in Beirut.
Any comments? Are we being used as decoys/shields now going into Beirut and elsewhere? Also, why is Syrian Air Defence so capable of identifying friend from foe, when Uncle Sugar has so many problems?
