Last night,( 4th Feb) either side of 10 pm, what I am sure was a Dakota, established a racetrack pattern just to the West of Hereford, approx. along the river Wye, ie an East-West-West- East pattern of about six miles, and around 2500 to 3000 feet. Made at least four runs.
The aircraft was south of the circle on the map round a military establishment, and eventually departed east.

Any ideas, folks?

It was a Russian Li-2 manned with sleeper 'Spetsnaz' agents sizing up the opposition before returning at a later date :suspect: ;)

Looking at FR24, a Reconnaissance Ventures Cessna 402 was orbiting in the Ledbury area a little after 10pm yesterday, presumably doing some sort of survey.

treadigraph: Thanks. Aircraft back tonight as I type this, but I accept is probably the Cessna, not a Dak.
