I need to find an opthalmologist who is familiar with PPL medicals, CAA regulations, etc. I am in Central Scotland, but would be prepared to travel to London. I need a report on my keratoconis (which causes me to be classified as "monocular") to submit to Gatwick. Or anyone (opthalmologist or not) who could give me advice in this area? I recall there was a letter in one of the flying mags a few months ago from an opthalmologist who offered to give advice but I can't find it now

I did a search for Opthalmologists at the BUPA Hospitals in Edinburgh at the following link
BUPA Consultants Edinburgh (http://www.bupahospitals.co.uk/asp/consultantSearchResult.asp) - there are about 6, but none have any declared specialism in flying or even Keratoconis. There is, however, a CAA Examiner there who can examine to Class 1 and may be able to advise. His details are: Dr A Thores, Murrayfield Hospital, 122 Corstorphine Road, EDINBURGH, Edinburgh, EH12 6UD. Tel : 0131 334 4806, Fax : 01383 872846, Email : [email protected]

I understand the top eye doc at the CAA may be the best guy to contact. He ran a clinic for Kerataconis so would no doubt give you the advise you need.
But reading your post it sounds like the CAA asked for the report?? I'd speak to the CAA and ask the doc's name and get a BUPA referral.
Fingers crossed for you mate!
