I'm looking at moving abroad soon and I have a collection of 12 die cast corgi airliner models, all 1st edition and/or limited edition, fully intact with the corgi model if originally included, kept out of the sun and boxes only opened to check contents.

I'd love to find them a new home, does anyone know collectors or shops who would be interested in buying them?

I've tried all around the Sheffield area, but nothing.
Thanks.

Hope this is the correct place....

Have you got a Nimrod? If so, how much do you want for it?

Stick them on eBay.

No sorry, but a Dan-Air comet.

Tried Ebay but people only want to pay peanuts, even for models 20 years old.

An item is only worth what somebody is prepared to pay for it. ebay is a good method of finding out how much they are worth.

How much do you believe they are worth?

I see two Dan Air Comets of 1999 issue for sale on the net from one store, prices £ 54.95 and £ 39.95 Both have the note "These early Corgi castings and their paint finish was never to a perfect standard, so buyers should expect light imperfections to both. Please don't purchase if you're expecting an immaculate model as they do not exist."

Shaggy Sheep Driver,

Have you tried Aviation Retail Direct or Antics on line ? Sorry mods, not advertising just passing info.

CYMMON,

Just because they are advertised for that price doesn't mean that they are worth that. The test is whether somebody actually buys them for that price.

Suggest you try Rails of Sheffield, they gave me an estimate for my extensive collection but that does include a lot of desirable items like Lightnings, V Bombers etc. Email them at [email protected]. Don't take any notice of ebay prices they're meaningless. Have a look at Model Price Guide from Smiths or other newsagents for some idea of what your items are worth. Best of luck.

Ok, thanks for that.

Sorry about the late reply but business has been brisk.

While we have a thread about Corgi models, does anyone know where you can get "spares" for them. During a house move, I lost the nose wheel from my BOAC Britannia, one of my favourites. Thanks.
