As reported in The Age, this could be an interesting development in recreational aviation . . . they are expected to retail at around $200,000 - see Jetpack IPO set for lift-off with China backer (http://www.theage.com.au/business/jetpack-ipo-set-for-liftoff-with-china-backer-20150115-12r7vf.html)

Good luck with that. I'm not sure which is the biggest risk:

- Technical risk of the product.

- Having a Chinese major shareholder.

- Starting a joint venture in China.

- Having the major shareholder arrange debt funding.

Chances of an Australian muppet shareholder ever seeing a dividend? - Zero.

Chances of the Chinese investor obtaining 100% ownership after the company runs out of money? About 90%.

Couldn't agree more, Sunfish. And I also think that rapid development in drone technology has taken away much of their potential market, for example, of working with emergency services and conducting inspections.

I wonder just how much of that $100M the management can siphon off in consultancy and management fees before they go bust!:yuk:

Can't wait to see how CASA will regulate the use of these things.

Not sure about strapping a Chinese-made jetpack on though. If the quality of the utes are anything to go by, CASA will be too busy to worry about real aircraft!
