......but lucky to talk away from this one. 5 minutes later and it would have been in the North Sea.

I particularly liked one paragraph in which the reporter breathlessly stated..
"The pilot RISKED HIS LIFE.. to bring down the aircraft.. along a muddy field".

I mean, as if he had other options?

Google Whyalla Airlines VH-MZK.

I couldn't see any comment in the AAIB report as to why neither prop was feathered? The pilot had 19 hours on type, I'd be curious to know what level of training was provided.

Looks like a very sad and tired airframe...even before the accident...

I dealt with the handler at Wick in 1999. If nothing has changed I would recommend Stornaway as a better choice.
