Hi,

I don't know when the NPA will go on... The JAA states was to give their opinion in April: I have no news about it.

What's your problem? Short sighted?

Buena suerte!

FFB,
excuse me too for my very bad english from france ;)

Hi, the 2nd Amendment of this NPA has been published 3 days ago (June 1st).
Unfortunately I'm not smart, so I don't know what this really means.

Hi RMM

so flying french boy, how are you?
did you solve your problem or are you still waiting for JAR FCL 15? cheers.

I went to Gatwick to pass my initial JAR UK Class one few weeks ago, and even if I had an eye which exceeded a limit the requirements (-5,25 instead of -5,00), they gave me it!

JmDt : The new visual requirements (+/-5 at initial, and +/-8 at renewal) proposed in the NPA are already implemented in UK, but "if the JAA reverts back to the old standards, you run a risk of having your medical certificate withdrawn" (UK CAA web site (http://www.caa.co.uk/srg/med/default.asp?page=537)).

Hi,

You can read this on the UK CAA website (http://www.caa.co.uk/srg/med/default.asp?page=779) about the NPA FCL 3-15 (http://www.aeronet-fr.org/phpBB/upload/JAA_npa.pdf) (new visual requirements):

The next meeting [of the JAA Licensing Sub-Sectorial Team (Medical)] will be in June when the new ophthalmology requirements as proposed in NPA 15 will be discussed.

Hi,

hi, are this rules still subject to changes, or arethey final JAR´s?

Ooouuups, excuse me RMM, I didn't reply to your last post.

This new visual requirements are not definitively JAR!

It's an NPA (Notice of Proposed Amendment), and, even if this new requirements are already implemented in the UK*, if the JAA reverts back to the old standards, the CAA will revert back too!

*: the UK CAA did it because they does not think this (JAA refuse this NPA) is likely to occur.

PS: sorry for my bad english from france

What they issued on June 1º was not the NPA FCL15-3.
Somebody knows how long does it take for a NPA to become an amendment?

Also on the NPA...15 they talk about PRK as an approved Refractive Surgery procedure. I heard that they are discussing about to include LASIK, anybody care to comment?
