Forget about it . It is so pathetic !

Only the desesperados will be fools enough to fly for this 3rd grade airline.

I know ex Cyrus guys who despite wanted to stay either on or near the Island are rejecting this "offer" in place of other contracts in Central/Eastern Europe which pay better (that says something).

Mate your figures are wrong...
My mate working there as FO gets around 2500euro as average so Capt. must be higher than what you say.
Again...not the best salary in the market but its still a solid company...greece is a nice place to be...real cheap now.
It depends what want from your private life also mate.

I saw an information sheet from contractair for FOs:

-no basic pay
-daily pay for flight duties:250€
-if choose to opt out from hotel:1000€ x month
-social taxes paid in swizterland
-Training pay for office duties: 130€

You have to pay for your own taxes...

Pretty poor package IMHO

I hear that schedule is absolute disaster. 6:1, sometimes 5:2. Many guys are leaving. Captain gets about 7900 euro before tax. Not worth the slavery.

My plumber charges €40/hr. Deduct travelling time and that is +/- 30hrs/wk = 1200 x 4 = €4800/m. That's a regular rate, not the stupid emergency call out rates often quoted. Home every night and no BS from anyone, nor a €120,000 debt. Must be quite nice.

Aegan is a classic "You get your contract based on who you know"-Outfit.

There a quite a few guys making a fair bunch of money (equal or better than BA or LH contracts!).

Anyone know the background to this 767 start up in Athens?

Go with Parc. Contractair is a shady one. They don't even pay on time.
With Parc you have more options about taxes too

Most of the figures quoted above are rubbish. It's a flat monthly rate plus overtime. Accommodation is in some very nice 5 star hotels, or if you wish you take a good allowance to get your own place, although a bit risky with the erratic rostering

Avoid Contactair. They have not yet paid some of the guys here their last months salary, yet Parc paid me on time over a week ago.

Salary wise for contractors, look at Parcs website and it will tell you. There is one contract for contractors, ex Cyprus guys had to joint the company payroll.

Contactair also have a strange Swiss pension that they are trying to force guys to pay into.

I've been out in Greece for a few months now with this company and they aren't 3rd rate. Certainly, they are mainly, pleasant professionals with decent aircraft and a good product. Communication is poor, but then name an airline where it isn't. Rosters for contractors come late, but again they are training like mad and trying to get people on line.

As I understand re the Cypriots, many of them were offered jobs on the basis that they would be Cyprus based, but then someone had the bright idea of basing them in Heraklion, Athens etc, so of course they took up offers from the ME.

As a recent join FO here there are some challenges but nothing too different from a reasonable mainstream european carrier. And yes, Greece is lovely, it's a nice place to come back to.

Your wrong its a great Airline and there are no bad deals. A good pal of mine has been with them via Contractair for over a year now. Plus they were the only ones with decency to reassure their crews during the Greek crisis. ( which of course isn't over). I think that if anyone calls them 3rd or 4th rate then that is a personal choice. Probably failed their professional training by all accounts. Yes he pays into the Swiss pension fund? Whats wrong with paying into a pension . We all get old sometime.
