I accused a friend of mine this morning, he's just had one of these (http://www.hphmodels.cz/index.php/en/shop-2/produkty-hph-models/modely-v-meritku-1-48/concorde-101-102-in-scale-1-48-detail) delivered.

Probably apocryphal, but the story was told many years ago of a hangar "disappearing" from an RAF base. The Officer on whose charge it was didn't really know how to explain this. The solution was to change the designation from "Hangar, Aircraft" to "Hanger, Coat". Anyone can lose one of those.

The blanket stackers had a form -"conversion voucher" ISTR - which could change anything into something else. saved my bacon when I had the transit block at Watton in the 60s

"conversion voucher"
Well used prior to annual inspections and audits.

A missing petrol generator, so I was told, was converted to a 250V electrical insulation tester. I believe the trick was to carry out the conversion in stages via other similarly named items.
