Good afternoon,

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to renew my EASA CPL SEP and IR anywhere in Africa? I have a UK licence and do not want to convert it at the moment, but need to renew the SEP and IR

Many thanks in advance for anyone's help!

Hi Keen to fly,
Looks like there is not much Easa activity here......firstly you would need an EASA reg aircraft with an EASA TRE.....however if you have a UK CPL, it should be a multi engine -IR-MCC rating so renewing the SEP is not of any benefit to the licence.....a typerating on another aircraft in an EASA facility would take care of all that. A few years back, as long as the IR doesn't stay unrenewed within 7 years, your technicals are still valid. Just keep your medical going at least. Wish you the best of luck.

I don't think it has to be an EASA reg. aircraft, and no requirement for a TRE either. A Class Rating Examiner should be sufficient.
However it has to be an approved EASA examiner. If your rating has not expired - I don't even see why the examiner would have to hold the local reg. license (for your EASA renewal), as long as it is on a certified (AFM) single pilot aero plane..
