Emergency services on scene of a chipmunk crash at Luskintyre. rescue chopper on scene,two persons to be transported.No further details at is time.

Apparently VH-RVY Lycoming IO-360. No details but has been very high 30s since early this morning. Hope not serious.

Appears no life threatening injures thankfully. Occurred shortly after take off according to this:

Not being a smarta** or trying to start and argument here, but the ground seems (key word seems) relatively flat behind the a/c. Why so much damage? Cheers

The direction the aircraft is pointing in the photos is not necessarily the direction the wreckage was travelling before it came to rest.

There is also no indication of the vertical component of travel.

Speculation here is pointless of course, very sad to see a Chippy come to grief all the same :{

Very sad indeed, checked my log book and did 3.5 hours training in RVY at Royal Vic in the mid 1960-s. After surviving over 60 years sad to see its sudden demise? :(

Thanks Dora and Comper,
what wonderful memories, not many years later did much of my early training on Chippy's, Blue RVY figures in my log book with Bruce McInnes for some of those hours. ;)
