No real news here. Russia is regaining ground lost during it's lean years. Not doing anything they have not done in the past.

With the sad disgraceful and irresponsible state of our forces what are we going to do about it ? -Nothing, the government should be shot for putting us into this situation.

Then again, should the Russians decide to annex the UK, they just might be,

I think your seeing the thing from the view of them being UK armed forces, whilst true in name, in practice its really NATO armed forces.

The move is slowly but surely edging towards a total collective defense, rightly or wrongly.

You'll never get logical argument or rational thought where the under-achieving class bigots choose to trash the imaginary upper classes for self-aggrandisement. The sick and interbred politics of Labour class (affluence) envy and pure corrosive spite are tragically still prevalent in British politics and prevent the progress of the nation through their bitterness and bile.

Compare this to the enlightening freedom of the American Dream ( a social conscience, not a political ideology) and see why we remain a second class nation.

Thanks, all you Professional lefty underachievers. For wrecking us all. Still. Again.

PARKLIFE!

Going back to the original story - if this airliner was "taking off" from CPH, just how close was this Russian plane to Denmark?

Add to this the four Russian ships heading to Oz without any notification. Poor Ol' Putin is rattling sabres with us. Clearly, he doesn't realise that we don't give a flying f#*%! about him.

Nato Scrambles 400 Times Against Russian Planes

Could someone remind me how many 'Q' sorties 29 Sqn flew over the Easter weekend of 1988? They took over Southern Q on Thursday at 12.00 local, the normal take over day being Friday at 13.00 ISTR.

It was the first time Tornado F3 had been used on Q so when the guys from Moscow came to have a look around the North Sea on Good Friday and found a couple of said Tornado F3's on their wingtips, they got on the blower to their mates to come have a look.

Russia Denies Near-Miss With Passenger Jet (http://news.sky.com/story/1391762/russia-denies-near-miss-with-passenger-jet)

Moscow has denied one of its military planes nearly collided with a passenger plane over Sweden.

" Swedish defence forces said the incident happened on Friday when a Russian aircraft turned off its transponders to avoid commercial radar south of the Swedish city of Malmo.
It nearly hit an airliner that had just taken off from Copenhagen International Airport in Denmark, they said.

"There were no conditions for an aviation incident connected to the flight on Friday December 12 of a Russian military plane in the international airspace over the Baltic Sea," said Moscow defence ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov."

Baghdad Bob, "there are no American ......"
Putin, "There are no Russian troops in Ukraine"
Russian spokes person, "There have been ........"

Every thing coming out of Russia these days is starting to sound like the Iraqi information minister.
