Can any one identify this species of Dragonfly I photographed at Marseille Airport.

In prehistoric times (carboniferous era) the buggas were five foot long and could really bite yer arse.

Nice image anyway. I'd managed to photograph some damselflies this summer...but dragonflies had been quite elusive. Finally, I managed to get one, unfortunately clinging to the washing line, rather than a pleasant piece of greenery.
