I just bought a new camcorder and want to make a few movies. Can someone please recommend a good video editing program that is not too complicated?

MicroSoft's Movie Maker is said to be pretty good. It used to be included in Windows, but it's now a free download.

The most recent Windows Movie Maker (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows-Live/movie-maker) is not half bad.

Magix Movie Edit Pro (http://www.magix.com/int/movie-edit-pro/).
Latest version is 64 bit only.

MEP 2014 is 32 bit and works well.

With the update of 17th October iMovie can now export ProRes 422, it can also import ProRes 422 files and edit them without having to convert to the old AIC codec.
To import a ProRes file into iMovie from say, a Canon DSLR, first convert it from Canon .MOV to ProRes and then import to iMovie. Excellent quality. There are many file converters available but I would recommend Toast 12 Pro.

:ok:

Thanks for your suggestions. I have Windows Live Movie Make as one of my Windows 7 programs and decided to try it. So far I have made one video using it. Editing was pretty straightforward and overall it's easy to use.
