Mech,

ATP Flight School is excellent, if he is from the UK he will have to do it in Daytona. Great facilities, aircraft availability and instructors. Use G1000 Diamond DA40s, G500 Piper Archers and G1000/430 C-172s. This is where I trained can't recommend it enough and not expensive either compared to the UK. https://atpflightschool.com/

I can also recommend Aerosim Acadamy in Sandford Florida, Phoenix East Aviation in Daytona and Flight Safety Academy Vero Beach. All of these I heard were good through word of mouth.

He will have to work hard though, they like people to come in and get it done, met a lot of internationals who pissed around and got kicked out. If he is motivated he will be fine at all these flight schools and not have to spend an extra penny.

If he wants to fly and also have a decent social scene then this looks like a good place in Ft. Lauderdale which is a good location for the beach and also Miami nightlife. Hope that helps.
