Couple of my USB drives not being recognised since my last switch-on. Two friends have had the same problem. Have MS downloaded any *helpful* fixes recently which might have caused this ?
All working again now, just wondered whether there was a common cause.

There has been a Windows Update that "bricks" USB thumbdrives drives that show a false larger size. Windows Update bricks fake USB chips- The Inquirer (http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/2377473/windows-update-bricks-fake-usb-chips)
However since yours are now working it is not likely that this was the cause. These USB drives are usually available on eBay and appear to originate from China.
