Hi All, This Bee Gees song starts outside a hangar and then the bee gees go up in a C206

Anyone know where this was filmed?

Any other comments/remarks?

The big Cessna hangar looks like Rex at Bankstown. There used to be an airport there.

Apart from the bleeding obvious like Bankstown, Rex and the Bee Gees, has anyone info on the actual pilot, plane, other planes in the clip where they are now etc, and those girls....mmmmmmm... In their 60s and 70s now no doubt.

I know where RXG is now but it's not a 206

I seem to recall from Spicks and Specks (the TV show) that one of the girls is Denise Drysdale.

When travelling, the Bee Gees prefer to fly with Cessna and stay at the Bankstown Hilton.....this is Pete Smith speaking ...Goodnight Australiaaaaaah.

Spot on Fris.
Denise was acknowledged as one of the best 'GoGo' dancers in Australia at the time. She also recorded and released a single 'Sunshine Shadows/Rescue Me' in October 1966 co-produced by Maurice Gibbs and recorded at the St Clair studio in Hurstville, (same as Spicks and Specks, recorded September 1966).

I remember hearing Adam Hills close an episode of Spicks & Specks by showing this song after getting so many enquiries about the name of the show and where it came from. He said the song was filmed at Essendon Airport.

In 1966, Essendon was the main Melbourne airport.
International ops moved from Essendon to Tullamarine in July 1970.
Domestic ops moved across in June 1971.
(Kylie filmed her 'Locomotion' video at Essendon Airport in 1987).
edit.
In a scene in the Spicks and Specks 'promotional film' it shows a house built right beside the runway.
If this was filmed at Essendon International Airport, then it means the film 'The Castle' was really a documentary rather than a comedy!
