Just been looking at my medical certificate.

It appears that if you get a comprensive medical when your 29 nearly 30. All the expensive stuff is valid for 5 years. If you wait until just after 30th ( it could be just days) means that you will have to fork out the cost of 2 full medicals instead of the pee in the jar and cough standard of medical.

Just a though for any of the mature wannabes

I really don't know.

It seems a bit wierd though. The fact that Gatwick did the medical should :) mean that it wasn't a mistake.

So now i will be 34 3/4 before i start having to be tested like a 30 year old which seems abit strange.

Dont know all the in's and out's of medicals (who does ?), but I was issued with an initial class 1 at age 28. Last year, aged 30, I had to have another ECG which was a bit of a surprise. apparently ECG's have to be done at 30,35,40 etc., irrespective of when the initial had taken place.

But then again the Doc could have told me I need to have a full MOT again, and I probably still would have subjected myself to it.

Maybe someone in the medical forum could answer ?.
