Securities class-action specialists Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd (https://www.rgrdlaw.com/) have been ordered to pay sanctions to Boeing (http://www.forbes.com/companies/boeing/) over a lawsuit the San Diego firm filed and vigorously pursued even though the crucial witness behind it was a fake.
Robbins Geller based the suit on a “confidential witness” the law firm portrayed as an engineer with inside knowledge about the 787 wing problems. Problem: The “witness” couldn’t have known about the wing problems because “he was employed by a Boeing contractor to perform low-level engineering work on a different airplane months after the events at issue in this case,”
