Pay to fly - Cabin Crew

The pilot profession has been plagued with this practice for over a decade now and I hear that it's slowly creeping in to cabin crew hiring as well.

Have any of you heard of pay to fly programs for cabin crew ? You pay for the training and do not earn a salary during operations .
