thEY don't do F/O direct entry A380! Only via the A320, A330, A340 first, but remember, only 10 A380, so not many pilots required. Chances of joining now and getting onto A380 in a few years is less than slim.

Are they still recruiting directly onto the A380? Seems to be recently onto A330.

Or at least people being promised A380, rocking up in dxb and being given an a330 course.

They type you're expecting is never guaranteed and never has been.

It's the same at most airlines so don't plan to come for one particular type on your license.

Most new joiners will still be going to the 380 as it's cheaper to do it that way... Otherwise, to transfer internally is costing the airline two type ratings - one for the new joiner and one for the guy transferring. The airline does not have a history of spending money it doesn't have to.

Hope this helps. :ok:

Hey guys,
I have 2 concerns here,
1) the EK Ssays 3000 total, including 1500hrs airbus fly by wire above 50tonnes..
Which is just a320 ......
Will they actually accept a320 pilots for a380 ....a narrow body, medium...to a wide body, super heavy......that doesnt make sense....??! Does it?

2) salary for a380 pilots....? Is it the same approx. 30000AED for all other types?
Or it is higher? Any real info ?

EK is hiring FOs directly into the 380 again. June and July 2014 there were 8 or 10 each month. They’re also hiring FOs into the 330 again.
