Saw a 747 at Stansted today. Not much paintwork, mostly in white, some sort of red / green band with a star on the tail fin. So I'm guessing private or government transport. Looked like a -100 or -200, i.e. short upper deck with (I think) only three or so windows.

So far, so normal. But behind the upper deck there seemed to be a "blister" of some sort. Anybody any idea what that might be, or better yet, what this aircraft is?

I saw the same one the other day, but only from a distance. Blisters however tend to be Satellite antennas of various sorts - communication, television, or internet.

Probably a 747 from the United Arab Emirates (Dubai Air Wing), Oman Royal Fleet or one of the other Gulf States? See following link for fleet images.
