Emergency or precautionary? There is a world of difference.

An aircraft has just taken off, possibly fully laden, and and one of two engines has surged badly enough to necessitate an in flight shut down. I think that could be classed as an emergency landing required rather than just a precautionary one. I stand to be corrected of course.....

We do NOT know what engine problems were experienced. For whatever reason, the pilots chose to return to their origin.:D and did so safely.:D:D
Let's wait for the details, kids. I'm just happy that the crew is safe. Does the other stuff matter?
