Being non-EK, I use one of these: Xgrip (http://www.gpscity.com/search/q=xgrip)

On the 737 I find that all you need is a normal iPad cover, no separate holder. Get a cover with a solid (one piece) flap. Not one of those that rolls up into a triangle shape.

What I do is I put the Ipad on the yoke. Pull the chart thing towards you and have the Ipad facing you with the solid cover at the top away from you.

Great angle and even in light turbulence it stays on the yoke. Best invention ever. Now I understand why that chart clip is there.

And with us PED's are allowed. Very sensible! :ok:

Which company do you work for? Even EK allow PED's in the flight deck (Just can't use them).

True, true (unless you are a trainer). Hence, it stays in my bag  (EK, by the way).

A barking mad policy..... Trainers can be heads down for hours filling out the complicated forms while looking after a new cadet but line pilots can't use a PED. Talented people these trainers to have such superior skills.

I don't think you'll find any trainer worth his (or her) salt that uses a PED to fill in an OGS form whilst conducting training, especially with a Cadet. Sitting in the jump-seat conducting a Line Check, though, well thats a different matter.

So nobody wants to answer the guy's question? It's simple.

1. Remove the plastic right angle hinge off the gash bag they put in the flight deck.

2. Velcro the flat back side to the top side of your ipad case.

3. Hook it over the chart holder and use the clip to secure it in place.

Now you can access all of you downloaded charts and manuals with the swipe of your finger!! Easy.
