Something more serious happened, and the company ceased operations after Boeing stopped supporting their only one 742......There won't be 744, not 742.
Finito la musica, passata la fiesta, as Italians say. :ooh:

I for one think it's really sad to see / hear that AerospaceOne appear to have stopped operating. Rumours abound as to why this might have happened but I haven't heard exactly why they have been forced to stop their flying operations. They certainly had a well equipped and very serviceable Classic that many of us would have liked to have flown (with another in the pipeline almost ready to go), they had contracts and the prospects looked good.

I think it would be unlikely that it is simply because "Boeing are no longer supporting the Classic" . . . there are several other Classic operators out there who appear to be still happily turning wheels every day and who are getting along absolutely fine with Mr Boeing. I rather suspect that it could be something deeper (or rather bigger) than Mr Boeing and that they may have somehow, inadvertently fallen out with Mr US of A perhaps ? Who knows.

But the crews at AerospaceOne (ASO) are ALL really good guys and they deserve better. There is a wealth of Classic experience amongst their group. Some of us in the Classic world have flown with them before and it is extremely saddening for us to see our friends and colleagues in their current position. With several of them being from Greece itself then they have had to endure enormous employment problems / social unrest over the past couple of years or so with all that has been happening with the Greek economy ever since they joined the euro. After all they have gone through they saw AerospaceOne as a welcoming light at the end of the tunnel.

Let us hope they can all stay positive and hopefully something might come good for them soon. If so then let's hope it comes good sooner rather than later.

And if there are any other Classic operators looking for good crew at the moment then they could do a lot worse than ring ASO and get speaking with their crews. They are current, experienced and a great sociable bunch of people that are an absolute joy to fly with.

I wish everyone of them the very best of luck. :D :ok: :D
