Hi guys,

Has anyone done the interview to be authorised by the FAA to sit the A&P exams?

If so what type of questions do they ask, or is it just to check your experience and paperwork?

And then the following question arises, is there any recommended A&P schools in europe other than the one that comes with the information paperwork from the FAA.

Thanks

Hi Pete
I did my A+P earlier this year in the States. The chat with the FAA to gain authority to sit the exams was purely a paperwork exercise and an informal few questions to assess your work history and experience. Nothing technical.
Good luck.

My experience with the FAA was much the same as what chuzwuza has already described. A brief chat, followed by coffee and a review of my experience log. I also had the pleasure of an English speaking test which involved reciting a passage from an Aircraft Maintenance Manual. I wasn't sure why this was required as I thought it was fairly obvious to the Inspector that English was my first language! Rules are rules I suppose! :ok:

Once you have your company recommendation letter, the rest of the process, as previously described, is really quite straight forward. As many have said before, the hardest part can actually be having the requirement for an A&P.

Good luck!
